HOW IT WORKS //Podcast Production

So what makes a good podcast? And how do you develop an idea into great content?  Here’s an overview of the whole production process, from idea to distribution.

1. Ideas & Goals

It all starts with a strategy session. Or multiple, if necessary. We get together and go over all the important building blocks: why do you want to make a podcast? Who will your listeners be and what are you looking to offer them? What role will the podcast play in your organisation’s brand strategy? And what goals do you want to set for success?

2. Formats

This is where we look at what type and style of podcast would work best for you. Is it conversational, a series of interviews, storytelling, documentary or informational? Another important decision to make, is on the tone. Will your podcast be funny, serious, lighthearted? You want to make sure that the tone is a good fit with your brand or organisation.

3. Presenters & Script

Now that we know what format and tone will work best, it’s time to find the right presenter. You might want to use a big name, or maybe a top professional in your field. Sometimes it’s key to find a great interviewer. This is also the phase where we start work on developing the scripts for the pilot episode.

4. Recording & Editing

We record the pilot episode with your chosen presenter and guests. Our production team works on your intro and outro, the underscore music, breaks and other elements that help your podcast come to life.

5. Distribution

Once you are happy with the pilot, we’ll work on the next episodes in the series. We start developing the visuals, decide on the right name for your show and look at things like descriptions and metadata. And that’s it: you’re ready to launch.
